During the Renaissance period, many great ideas and inventions emerged from the minds of some of the worldââ¬â¢s most genius people. On April 15th, 1452, Piero da Vinci and a peasant woman, Caterina, were blessed with a child. They named him Leonardo da Vinci; little did they know he would grow up to be a painter, sculptor, architect, mathematician, engineer, inventor, anatomist, geologist, cartographer, botanist, and a writer. Da Vinci is known as a man of ââ¬Å"unquenchable curiosityâ⬠and ââ¬Å"feverishly inventive imagination.â⬠Leonardo da Vinci is most known for his paintings and his inventions in flight, many of which are still being used today. Leonardo da Vinci left behind multiple notebooks with sketches and detailed lay outs of his inventions. In these notebooks, people have found many inventions involving flight. The three main flight inventions are the glider, the helicopter, and the parachute. Without Leonardoââ¬â¢s ideas on flight, it would still be hard for us to get people into the air today.
